Metabolism always rises with the ingestion of food. It’s how you eat, when you eat and what you eat that plays a big part in how it affects your metabolism. For instance, carbohydrates are assimilated quicker by the body than proteins and fats. Foods with a lot of fat on the other hand tends to be dense in calories and the body promptly turns them into stored fat.

Consuming peppers (the hotter the better), spicy foods, mustard, horseradish, curry, etc. cause increased blood flow, thus raising your metabolism.
One of the other foods that speed up your metabolism isn’t really a food at all. Plain water. Water has a large role in maintaining your metabolism. Becoming dehydrated by drinking to little water and your body will begin to conserve energy and lower it’s metabolism. Consuming iced water will also burn a few extra calories by having to warm it up before it’s absorbed by your body.
Caffeine can also boost your metabolism, it’s found in coffee, soft drinks, energy drinks etc. Reports have shown that coffee also has some powerful antioxident qualities, however drinking to much coffee may cause some undesirable side effects.
And lastly when looking for foods that quicken your metabolism give green tea a try. The taste is sort of grassy and the taste may take some getting used to, but you can try adding some honey or other flavorings may help. It’s not actually a food, but studies have shown that 3 to 5 cups per day will boost metabolism and assists weight loss. And research have shown that it has some great health benefits as well.
